Evangelist, Counselor, and an American Red Cross Authorized Provider,
First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor & Lay Responder
Evangelist Young was saved and filled with God's Holy Ghost at the age of 13 years. In 1981 at 15 years of age God blessed her to fulfill the call as Jr. Missionary, two years later she became a full-fledge Missionary. In 1997 the Lord spoke to her and said, "...I'm calling you to be an evangelist and the evidence will follow." Armed with the blessing of her pastor and father, the late Bishop John S. Young, Jr. and the scripture "watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry" (II Timothy 4:5) Evangelist Young continued to preach Christ and Him crucified, visiting the sick and shut-in, counseling, and comforting the down trodden.
Following in the footsteps of the apostles, Evangelist Young has sought to know more of God and His Word. Having completed her Bachelors and Masters degree in Ministry and Christian Counseling from Freedom Bible College and Seminary and currently a Ph.D. candidate in Clinical Christian Counseling from the National Christian Counselors Association. Evangelist Young also holds a Certificate in Theology and a Diploma in Biblical Studies. She believes as the scripture has taught "wisdom is the principle thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding" (Proverbs 4:7). Among her leisurely activities she enjoys playing the mandolin, biking, and motorcycling. Her passion, however, is evangelism: teaching and preaching the Word of God and using music as another means to tell someone about Jesus. James Michener wrote, "the master in the art of living makes little distinction between his work and his play, his labor and his leisure, his mind and his body, his information and his recreation, his love and his religion. He hardly knows which is which. He simply pursues his vision of excellence at whatever he does, leaving others to decide whether he is working or playing. To him he is always doing both."
